Kyoto Hotels

Kyoto is a city in central Honshū, Japan.  It has a population over over a million and a half people and some of the most interesting cultural landmarks in the whole country, and a large assortment of quality hotels.

There are a variety of excellent inexpensive hotels in Kyoto.  One of the best of these is the Kyoto Tower Hotel.  This establishment is sometimes called the gateway of Kyoto.  The rooms are located inside of a gorgeous tower that rises over the JR Kyoto Station.  An underground pathway connects the stylish hotel to the station, which makes Kyoto Tower the perfect place to stay for travelers on the go.

Another fantastic cheap hotel is the New Miyako Hotel.  This hotel has an incredible selection of eateries located inside it's doors.  These include Le Plaisir, a buffet-style restaurant, Ronde, a dining café and bar, Shisen, a Chinese restaurant, Kyoyamotoya, a Japanese restaurant, Lobby Lounge and Bar, and Le Raffine. It has eight banquet halls and a convenient location by the Kyoto Station.

Kyoto Royal Hotel and Spa is one of the best budget hotels in Kyoto.  This hotel is located on the most popular entertainment avenue of Kyoto, Kawaramchi Street.  This also means that it is only a couple of blocks away from many bus and subway stops.  Kyoto Royal Hotel is a good place for people to stay when they are in town to see the Nijoh Castle, Kiyomizu Temple, Golden Temple, Arashiyama, and the Imperial Palace.  Their modern rooms feature bright furnishings and comfortable beds with duvets, LCD televisions that receive the BBC, and access to high-speed Internet.

Another great and fairly inexpensive place to stay is the Hearton Hotel Kyoto.  This is a luxury hotel that prides itself on providing guests with feelings of at-home relaxation.  One of the highlights is the second floor traditional Japanese restaurant that serves the authentic cuisine of Kyoto.  There is also an excellent breakfast buffet on the first floor of the building.

Hotel Granvia Kyoto is a luxury hotel that is connected to the JR Kyoto Station Building.  This hotel has thirteen bars and restaurants, as well as a state of the art fitness center.  It is also home to more than one thousand artistic masterpieces

Another great luxury hotel is the Brighton, which has a great location by the Imperial Palace and near the Kawaramachi and Gion entertainment districts.  Special features include a twice daily English newspaper and an English tour.

The best hotel in Kyoto is probably the Hotel Mume, which is a boutique hotel that only has seven rooms.  Each room is designed with one of four themes in mind.  These themes are butterfly, flower, wind, and moon.  The hotel's location on the banks of the Shirikawa River in Gion gives it an enchanting peacefulness.  Due the the small number of rooms, it is best to go online and make reservations in advance.
